Watching you from afar

Hiding my existence

Wishing you would notice

Me.

You seem to always be smiling

Wonder what it is

That makes you smile

All the time

Or at least that’s

What it seems.

Watching you from afar

I pretend

the reason you’re smiling

Is Me.

Because

I had just made you laugh

And I was smiling

Because you

Noticed me.

Watching you from afar

I wonder who you really are.

Sometimes I wonder

If when you’re all alone

If you sometimes cry.

Because

I believe

That we all cry

Sometimes.

Watching you from afar

I am glad that you

Always seem to smile

So much.

It gives me hope.

Maybe while I’m wishing

You will notice me

You will smile

And I will pretend

The reason you’re smiling

Is me.
